Lavender and Yellow Baby Shower

My favorite cousin Nikki was pregnant, and instead of wanting to use traditional colors like pink for her baby shower, since she was having a girl, she decided that the decor for her baby shower should be the colors that she and her husband would use to decorate the nursery. (I was like, "Did she really give us directions on how to decorate her shower? Seriously?!?!?) You know how pregnant women can be, so of course my sister and I obliged her demands, I mean requests. I was put on decoration duty since I love that type thing. I googled lavender baby shower decorations, but came up with nothing that I liked. So being the DIY'er I am, I went to marthastewart.com for some inspiration. I love Martha Stewart, her site has sensible and chic ideas for just about everything. The results: I made a lavendar and yellow diaper cake. Balloon flowers and garland made of baby pics of my cousin would be used as decor, and super cute daisy flower plates were for the chowing down. Everyone loved the decor! It was personalized for the Mom to Be, and she knew how much we loved her by all of the personal touches.
